What is Tetracycline?
Tetracycline is a broad-spectrum drug that has a bacteriostatic effect. The drug fights gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. It is widely used in the treatment of a variety of purulent pathologies of the skin, inflammatory processes of the respiratory system and the genitourinary system. Available in tablets for internal use and in the form of ointments for external use. They treat infectious pathologies that develop by propagating a pathogenic microflora that is sensitive to the action of the drug. Indications for use
Tetracycline tablets are prescribed for etiotropic therapy of pathologies of infectious and inflammatory origin, the development of which is caused by the multiplication of pathogens sensitive to the main component of the drug. Typically, the drug is used in the treatment of:

- whooping cough;
- purulent infections of soft tissues;

Instruction for use
Tetracycline tablets are used for oral use. They must be taken one hour before a meal or two hours after it. Tablets are drunk whole, washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid. The average daily dose for children over 12 years old and adults is 2 tablets in four doses per day. The intervals between doses of tablets should be equal and should be 6 hours. Ate infectious pathologies are severe — the dosage can be increased to 500 milligrams. In this case, the daily dose should not be more than two grams of tetracycline.
The average duration of treatment is from 7 to 10 days. The dosage, regimen and duration of the course of etiotropic treatment for each patient is prescribed individually by the attending physician.
